Abstract | Research in natural disasters based in historic data present a lack formed by the absence of organized database comparable between Brazilian municipalities or states. In this sense the present paper aims to present the systematization of natural disasters occurrences in South Brazil developed by Nucleus of Application and Research of Geotechnologies in Natural Disasters and Extreme Events GEODESASTRES-SUL. This data organization is made from the diary collect of information about flash floods, gradual floods, landslides, hails, storms, droughts in 38 online periodical of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states. These information are organized in spreadsheet by State and municipality; afterwards they are classified in high, medium and low intensity which criteria is the declaration of state of emergency or state of public calamity, recognized by National Secretary of Civil Defense. The spatialization of data is made in a geographic information system TerraView (INPE), which permits the phenomena spatial analysis. The information subsidize the subsequent development of detailed studies as well input the GEODESASTRES-SUL database. The systematization is been presented as a efficacious to identify natural disasters occurrences, especially those of low intensity, which do not take the municipalities to declare state of emergency, but already cause damages to society. Another relevant aspect is that the systematization in development is one of the ways to supply the lack of organized data about natural disasters in South of Brazil. |
